A long, long time ago, over 8,000 years ago, people in Scotland built a special calendar. This calendar was made up of 12 pits and was used to track the moon. The calendar is called the Warren Field and is considered to be the oldest moon calendar ever found!

The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland discovered the Warren Field during an ariel survey in the summer of 1976 and began to dig it up in 2004. The pits are lined up in a way that helps keep track of time, the moon, and the seasons. This calendar was made by hunters, not farmers, which makes it special and unique.

The Warren Field is near a castle called Crathes Castle in Scotland. It is a really important find because it is so old and was created by hunters, not farmers who usually made big monuments like this.
